Now Hiring: Media Planner/Buyer


Do you like working with friendly, driven people? Making an impact through media? Well, ZLR Ignition is looking for a media planner/buyer to join our team helping to drive advertising campaigns for our clients. The successful candidate will plan, buy and manage media campaigns. You’ll collaborate across departments, build relationships with outside sales representatives and ensure our media campaigns are on track. Excited about this opportunity? The feeling’s mutual!

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the researching, planning, negotiating and placing of media plans and schedules
  • Enter buys into media buying software and place orders
  • Build relationships with Sales Representatives to monitor media opportunities and marketplace conditions
  • Negotiate media rates, added value and ad space positions across mediums (outdoor, television, radio, print and online) 
  • Gather appropriate media metrics to help create various client reports (pre/post campaign, added value, etc.) 
  • Create and update budget flowcharts
  • Monitor media budgets and assist with billing; including invoice management, reconciling of discrepancies and makegoods
  • Support Media Supervisor in the management, tracking and optimizing of online search, display and digital video buys
  • Ensure traffic instructions and creative materials are sent to vendors


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Advertising
  • Previous experience in marketing/advertising, preferable with an advertising agency in the media planning/buying function
  • Have experience with both traditional and digital media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and analytical skills  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 Years of experience in media
  • Experience with Media Planning and Reporting Software such as: Strata, MRI, Nielsen, Scarborough, Google Analytics, Google DoubleClick, Telmar, Simmons, Kantar, etc.
  • Knowledge of general media concepts, procedures and strategies
  • Experience with both B2C and B2B clients
